she’s called the first lady of television, and with good reason; she was the first female to own a production company; she created an icon of american television in her character ‘lucy riccardo’ and not for the first time is this a film about her. the difference is that this is a pitch for a larger and more in depth dramatisation of her life. up until now, the lucille ball estate has blocked films about her, but we’re hoping that this little gem will change their minds.

‘becoming lucy’ is the creation of alexis lygoumenos, a very talented actress who plays the role of lucille as we follow her life through a series of flashbacks. this is her graduation piece for her degree at the new york film academy, los angeles. i’ve been asked to composer music for the film, and although the version being handed in a week will have only one piece by me, the score will be completely replaced after the initial screening. i am also music editing both this and revised version (and even did a little sound design, creating the laugh tracks for the recreations of a couple of famous scenes).
